About Us

Jewishcomedy.co.uk is the home of writing team Leslie Bunder and Caroline Westbrook who write Jewish comedy for stage, screen, print and radio. Leslie and Caroline write fresh and original Jewish comedy for a diverse and inclusive audience. We aim to create non-stereotypical material that embraces and celebrates Jewish life with a hint of irony and several thousand years of persecution.

Leslie Bunder

Leslie Bunder has been been working in the new media industry for a decade and for the past few years has been working on his own brand of original Jewish comedy and Jewish programming ideas. Born in Brooklyn, New York, Leslie came to London when he was 10 years-old in 1977. He is the co-founder of SomethingJewish.co.uk (previously known as jewish.co.uk) the UK's leading independent Jewish website. Since setting up jewish.co.uk in 1996, Leslie has also launched a number of other focused Jewish websites including Jewish.net and JewishReunion.co.uk which now form part of the Jewish Media Trust network of sites run and operated by JMT Vetures Limited.

He has also worked for a number of leading websites include Teletext, BBC and InfoSpace.

In his spare time, Leslie enjoys travelling, film and music. Plus, he has a real passion for Jewish comedy and Jewish programming for stage, screen and radio. His ambitions for 2004 are to see one of his Jewish comedy writing projects developed as well as writing and producing a modern Jewish musical and learning to ride a bicycle.

Caroline Westbrook

Caroline is a lifestyle and entertainment writer and broadcaster. She has been working for magazines since 1990, both in a full-time and freelance capacity. Although she specialises in film and entertainment, Caroline also writes on a variety of other subjects, including technology, home entertainment and history. Her outlets include: film magazine Empire where she is a contributing editor as well as the BBC.
